Here are some of our guidelines in response to posting business reviews on TownTalk

TownTalk will not accept any reviews that breach / include the following:

  • Profanity
  • Obscenity or vulgarity
  • Racial/ethnic slurs
  • Hate speech or prejudiced comments
  • Personal insults
  • Hostile comments and threatening language

Non Threatening
TownTalk UK will not condone any review which is any way threatening towards a business or a user of the TownTalk network.

Post carefully and respectfully
Reviews on TownTalk should be readable by all age groups. After submission you can't change your review. However a single profanity, hostile comment or personal insult - even in a well-considered post - can lead to the removal of a post. All the standard swear words are banned (you know what they are), and we will remove reviews and posts that contain clever (or not clever) misspellings of curse words intended to circumvent our content filters. We do not permit graphic descriptions of death, injury, or violent criminal activity. First-hand reports of deaths and criminal activity will be considered on an individual basis. Reviews with contact or personal information about other members without permission will be removed.

Authentic and original
No posting copyrighted material or content published elsewhere. We will remove reviews and posts that promote or seek advice on engaging in illegal activities.

Valid e-mail and standard e-mail ettiquette:
The e-mail address associated with your account must be correct. We may need to contact you if there's a problem with your review, so make sure you have a current, valid e-mail address. Please follow standard ettiquette when writing your review. Do not use ALL CAPS, HTML tags, excessive typographic symbols, or slang.

TownTalk UK reserves the right to remove a review or management response at any time for any reason. The reviews posted on TownTalk UK are individual and highly subjective opinions. The opinions expressed in reviews are those of TownTalk UK members and not of TownTalk UK. We do not endorse any of the opinions expressed by reviewers or in management responses. We are not affiliated with any establishment listed or reviewed on this web site. TownTalk UK reserves the right to remove any post for any reason. We'd like to keep removal of posts to a minimum, but we will take the necessary action to keep our reviews welcoming and conducive to helpful discussion.
